We’ve made it to the end, folks! As Green Day once sang, there is nothing left to analyze. All 23 categories have been covered, some here on the blog, others in video form. All that’s left to do is figure out who will actually win this thing come Sunday. As I do every year, here are my official predictions.

I Actually Paid To See This 
I only saw one movie last year, and it wasn’t nominated for anything, so I have no horse here. If there’s any reason to not vote for Oppenheimer, though, it would be to not take part in the whole summer ersatz Battle Royale of Oppenheimer vs. Barbie. I don’t actually see the voters giving a hoot about that though, so I doubt it will factor. But I do love the idea of its potential win being the third winner in a row that was actually available to the general public for the bulk of its run in the year that it’s supposed to reflect. Break that Oscar-bait schedule baloney to bits.
I also can’t wait for the spoof film about the Midwesterner who helps create the ultimate food item combining ranch and a variety of cheeses, so good, it’s considered “atomic.” It’s…. Ope-nheimer. Let it scoot right past ya there. The film is four hours long, but the last two are just everyone saying goodbye to each other.
