It’s a Cat-Tastrophe – 40th Annual Golden Raspberry Nominees Announced!

Normally, the Razzie nominations come out the day before the Oscars do, and are awarded the night before the Academy hands out their hardware. However, because of the accelerated AMPAS schedule, the Razzies, which are more of a fun gag than anything else, decided not to go along with the crowd, instead holding off the nominations until today. I paid $40 for the right to nominate and vote this year, and I am among the 1,017 who had a say in the field, and will have an official say in the results.

We now have our nominees, and to the surprise of none, Cats dominates the proceedings, with nine nominations. Two “films” are tied with eight nods: A Madea Family Funeral and Rambo: Last Blood.

In most categories, I’ve narrowed my vote down to two, so I’ll appreciate your opinions on which way I should go, even if you think I should vote for something completely different.
