Tomorrow’s the big day when the Academy finally makes their announcement for this year’s Oscar nominations. But as happens every year, the Golden Raspberry Awards get to go on “Oscar Eve” as the Academy’s self-described “ugly cousin,” highlighting the absolute worst Hollywood had to offer in the previous year. For the third year running, I have purchased a membership that gives me just under a 1/1000 say in how this process turns out, and if nothing else, it’s just a bit of good-natured fun.
Unlike the Oscar Blitz, I feel no obligation to watch all or any of these movies, though most years I happen to have seen one or two by happenstance. This year is no different, as I’ve seen one of the Worst Supporting Actor nominees (and I actually liked that performance), and I’m very likely to see another, as his film is all but guaranteed to get multiple nominations tomorrow for reasons known but to Satan.
In addition to the usual goofs, we have a special category this year, in “honor” of an actor who ran a gauntlet of shitty movies throughout 2021. The official press release can be found here. Let’s get to the nonsense!

I’ve heard a few things about Karen, all of which justify its inclusion here. And while Jared Leto’s nominations make me even more apprehensive about having to watch House of Gucci for the Blitz, I can still breathe sighs of relief that I skipped all the other multiple nominees that came from mainstream cinema last year. I do find it funny that Amy Adams and Taryn Manning are both nominated in both actress categories. Maybe they’ll split the difference. Maybe they’ll tie and share both awards. Who knows? Either way, I’m laughing.
Join the conversation in the comments below! Did you see any of these “films?” Are their nominations warranted? Seriously, how can Bruce Willis churn out so much crap in one year? Let me know!
